Best batsman you've dismissed...
« on: August 17, 2011, 12:02:50 PM »

Who's the best player you've ever got out in a game? Also describe the dismissals!

Mine are...

Will Vanderspar:
http://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/player/400643.html

Vanderspar was on 49 off about 25 balls, smashing us all over the place... I trundle in for what would have been the last ball of my spell having gone for 20 off the over so far. Bowl a rank full toss, VDS tries to smash it out the ground which results in his middle and leg stump being removed from the ground. He stands there for a good 30 seconds trying to work out what happened!

http://www.espncricinfo.com/netherlands/content/player/219885.html had no idea who he was and he snicked a cut to the keeper off one that bounced a little when he was on 2-3, mashed us everywhere in the return game though.
and
http://www.espncricinfo.com/newzealand/content/player/37250.html probably the best ball I've ever bowled, he came down the track and didn't quite get there, turned between bat and bad before taking middle and leg. Love reminding my old clubmates opf that story  :D

probably Imran Hassan - a Wales U19 / Glamorgan 2nds player who plays for Newport CC.

Stumped him off the 1st XI skipper's bowling in a pre season friendly.

Alastair Cook, caught behind prodding outside off stump. It was quite frankly Glenn Mcgrath-esque. Just about 20mph slower.

I spent a year bowling at him when he was 12 and at school and don't remember getting him out... although that says a lot about my bowling!!

Been lucky to have a couple of scalps in my time;
Devang Gandhi - Ex India test player
Ravi Bopara - about 4-5 years back in a league cup comp
Scott Newman - in a Evening Standard cricket cup comp

Did have charl Willoughby caught behind, but never given, maybe not the best batsman, but a decent bowler.

Albie Morkel in the nets, not a game but I'm still claiming it!

Had Lou Vincent dropped in a T20 game a few years back
