Australia vs. Sri Lanka - Final One Dayer
« on: August 22, 2011, 02:34:12 PM »

Final One Dayer bring played and Malinga took his 3rd one day hatrick, the most any player has ever taken.

After looking like getting 250 Australia amazingly lost their last 5 wickets for 1 run (Malinga Hatrick) which amazed me tbh. Good thing Australia has already won the series.

Sri Lanka were then struggling at 3/33 but are going pretty good now, so it should be a good game

Yeah mate I'm in Sri Lanka watching this atm, it's 100-3 atm, going to be a good game.
Good thinking from Aus to rest Bollinger and Lee though, Pattinson looks sharp and handy..

On another note I saw all of the players earlier today at their team hotel (Cinnamon Grand) - was sitting next to Haddin and Dave Hussey having tea lol..

Unfortunately my dad's camera broke though, so no pictures :(

I always rated Pattinson's older brother... (cough) !!

On a serious note, great that there are a load more aussies on the forum, what do you guys think of your fast bowling stock - because I think that will have an impact on your future improvements - you have loads of batting, no real spinners, so it is up to the young quicks... Pattinson has been talked up in the papers a fair amount.

I liked the looks of Mitchell Stark a while back, not sure what has happened with him?? Our spinning stocks don't look great, TBH with the spinners we have played of late we would be better off playing an extra bat who can bowl part time spin, would do just as good a job....just my 2cents worth though. Krejza doesn't look like getting picked ever again. Not too sure who else is up and coming, a couple of good QLD quicks but whether they can step up and remain consistent at the higher level remains to be seen.

Australia are wasting there time with Dougherty, he is to inconsistent as are the other aus spinners.
Surely Steve Smith will be a big success in time. From what I have heard from people that have played him, he is a freak and with guidance from the likes of Warne, he is sure to have a big future.
Mitch Marsh will be a big name in a couple of years. He is still growing but already bowls 140 + and is a quality bat
Enough coming through

What does bilge mean?
Smith is 22, give it a few years and he will be a regular in that aussie side

From Wikipedia:

"bilge" has become a derogatory colloquial term used to refer to something bad, fouled, or otherwise offensive.

Chris Schofield made his England debut at 21 and as we all know, went on to really great things :)

Clarke and Hauritz don't like each other - that's the reason...or at least that was what I heard...
