H4L Excel to Hattori Refurb
« on: August 26, 2011, 12:59:28 PM »

Had no interest in my Excel Monster LE that was For Sale, so I contacted Matt at H4L about a refurb instead.  I had a few things that I wanted to Matt to do, including check and repair the crack on the back at the toe, take some weight off, clean up and rebrand as an Hattori, complete with Devil stamps on the edges.

Well after almost 2 weeks the bat came back this morning.  First impression...stunning!  The Hattori branding is so much classier than the Excel Monster with the claws, etc.  The finish is super smooth all over, the weight has come down about 3oz to a shade over 2.10...very, very happy with it....cheers Matt...the H4L is back in the kitbag for the weekend :D

Is it me or does it say "Hand made in Hent"?

Apart from that it looks brilliant, if my current bat breaks or if I become a decent enough batsmen to require a 2nd bat(A big if ;) ) then H4L will definitely be the first place I go to, never seen an ugly looking H4L and never heard of one not performing.

I personally think they look better with a clear anti scuff rather than a hammer edge as it shows the grains better but that is just my opinion....
