what bat arrived Kook?SAf?Talisman?
I have the kook... g3 on looks, but a good size for a 2.9 bat and a nice shape with decent pick up, I haven't bounced a ball on it as my son is sleeping and that is more than my life is worth.  the Orange stickers aren't to my taste!

as for the package at the post office... well Andy saf doesn't have my home address, but mike does...
it might be something totally not cricket related, but I'm not expecting anything. needless to say i'll be first in the queue at the post office tomorrow...

I have just been on the Greg Chappell cricket store website and seen some of the prices on bats for the coming season.
The top of the line GN, Kooka, GM etc are all $750 or thereabouts. That's equivalent to £450. Ridiculous prices

cheers that would be good bats with SAF Shield  ;)

Here goes:

"You would have seen that we have the Ultima project readied for 2012 and this allows you to pick the look, feel and name of your bat. This will be the very best on offer, as you get all this and top advice on getting the best from your bat.

The rest of the range is as follows
1) ORIGIN
2) INFINITY (plus POWER X option)
3) HADES Ltd Edition run of only 200 bats (fcfs basis)
4) MECH10

The Origin is going to be the new classic shape from SAF it is an enhancement of the Fabrica and Andy feels it elongates the playing area of the blade without comprimising any of the best bits of the original design

The Infinity is the our "T20" Andy puts that in inverted commas because people use the bat in normal cricket.  The Audax design has been tweaked making it less concaved but still has the low toe edges and higher spine to provide balance and power.  It provides the power you need for T20 but also the balance doesn't comprise your ability to play those cuts, the back foot game abd the swing feel for front game if required. Because of all those factors we decided to offer the Infinity next year in a full size blade option for those that dont want that shorten blade.

The Mech10 is SafBats stock shape (to be fully revealed later this year) based around the bat that won the 2010 award from All Out Cricket it was an easy decision to tweak the shape, enhance the edges to fit the modern look but retain the exceptional balance of the original design. It is effectively a mix of the Erus edge and the Fabrica spine. So far the feedback has been very positive as we have used a local college and its cricketers and local clubs to blind test the bats and get feedback from them during pre-season and the summer.

The Hades is a new concept from Andy, one he's pretty attached to. The Bats concept was a techie one. It was mapped out on paper and theoretical calculations worked out. Then various iterations of the bat made up, the final design is a bat that brings into play the techie performance areas of the bat in the hitting area based on its pressing, swing weight, balance. They are all fine tuned and tested and he loves them..  The shape you'll see in good time but these will be strictly limited to a 200 run.

The last bat on that roster would be the Ultima, this is a pretty simple proposition. As we find those rare clefts of willow that are either aesthetically beautiful, incredibly oversized or Andy feels will be pure performance above and beyond any G1. We set them aside for people to choose the profile, look and colours of their bat. A truly personal bat to them. A one off"

Only addition I am thinking of now is Millichamp & Hall kit (pads, gloves and bat) but in order for that I have to get rid of Salix Arma gloves, Newbery Test gloves and GM Luna 808.

Yup, I really fancy a Hades. Don't think they are accepting orders or releasing prices until 11.11.11 though :(

If they're much more than £200 then I'm out..

I've only just stocked up on full M&H Distinction gear (ashamedly and literally everything!) so I guess that will hopefully last me another few season or two...The gloves and bat are looking very precious though, so may get a few other options on those fronts for net practice.
