Yeah, that US Hurricane, when it was downgraded, was downgraded to a British Summer!

It would suck to be you guys, but you also play a hell of alot more than we do as we only have Saturday's and but you're first grade then you get Sunday's as well. I've seen some of your stats and you had already played more games and had more innings than we ever get to have over here, we get between 10-20 innings depending on where you bat and if you play finals, my mate is over in the UK and he has had 33 innings in total so much more than we ever get, it's mainly due to the Sunday, midweek and tour games, which we would never get over here.

What I meant was that I play football (AFL) during winter and I hadn't had a wet weather game in years (had just one this year) but other than that it has been dry as, but then summer comes around it's 30 odd degrees with 95% humidity and it decides to rain which not only cancels cricket but makes you sweat so much more due to the moisture in the air. Also because we train outdoos, any sort of rain ruins training as the nets get wet and people can't bowl as they slip over and it becomes dangerous. Last year I had 5 games cancelled because of rain which meant I only had 12 innings for the year and I'm a batsmen

Well outside of organised league cricket, if there is an appetite for more, why not arrange friendlies with other clubs?

Alos sounds like your leagues must be quite small.

My division has 12 teams, and we play each other twice, home & away, so there are 22 league matches.

Plus a league cup

Plus a county cup

Plus a national cup

Plus a 20/20 cup (which has qualifiying groups, so it guarantees another handful of fixtures)

Plus any friendly fixtures.

If there's not enough cricket there surely the club members should put more pressue on the leagues to organise bigger and/or more competitions.

Our new nets soak up the water, we train Wednesday nights andnany overnight rain on Tuesday will garuntee slippy nets, I dint risk it and don't bowl, just bat without tapping my bat on the ground!

I play in the Brisbane Premier Grade comp, which is the best and biggest comp in QLD, it's where the bulls players play when they aren't playing for the bulls. All our games are on Saturday, so when we play one format the other two aren't played that week. We also have less people playing and less money than you guys, sort of like the massive difference in gear prices you guys just have a bigger market

The friendlies sound pretty good, but then clubs don't like their facilites being used if it isn't a proper game and the groundsmen would probably have to do more work. Would be nice to play more, but I doubt it will happen unless there is a mssive jump in the amount of people who play

I also think that you guys have some small fields whereas over here they are generally a bit bigger and are generally always part of a complex, park or football field/s

One team in my league played 5 out of 18 matches this season, stuff like that would make you retire.

Rain is the ONLY thing i hate about cricket. I only played 7 games this season, due to going on holiday, jury duty and rain :-(. They should have indoor grounds here if there is such a thing, im pretty sure they have one at lords?

No, they don't. Lord's has the Indoor Cricket Centre, which is Nets and an Indoor Cricket arena. You don't play normal cricket in it.
