They did worse with Doherty who had played 30 odd games and averaged 48, so they klnew he was s**t but at least they have done better with Lyon ahah.

Its free on Eurosport 2 which is great. Ball is turning bigtime and plenty of rough on the second session of a first day pitch !

Real pressure debut for Lyons on a spinning pitch.

Hussey is batting really well, hopefully he can get to his 100,
What's up with Siddle that he's not in the side?

Siddles not in the side I guess cause you can obviously play only 3 quicks. Johnson will always be there, and I dont know the coach came out and said Harris is the number 1 bowler Australia have (news  to me). So it only leaves 1 spot.

The reason Copeland is there is just cause its sri lanka. He will be used in the same way australia used michael kasprowitz. By the end of kasprowitz's career he really only ever played in the sub continent and copeland does the same thing (A bowler who just hits the spot, bowls cutters and just looks for seem movement - no pace at all).

I think Copeland might go ok over there, this wicket is condusive to seem - but yeah it wont last after this series.

Copeland only bowls around 125km/h and he still manages to take wickets, I just don't get it, Afridi's quicker ball is faster than that.

Have to give it to Lyon, he did bowl.
Second innings will be a huge test for him I think

Oz making a strong start again - Sri Lanka 133-7. Lyon bowling pretty nicely again, just picked up his second, going at 3.6 though. Keep them to under 175 and Aus will probably build a big lead on day 2/3

Just looking at the current match and it appears that the Aussies picked Hughes instead of Khawaja

Please can someone explain why Marsh wasn't promoted to opening with Watson, Ponting back at 3 and the rest as was? Techinally Marsh is in a differnet league to Hughes who has a sting of low scores to his name and can't play the short ball.
As for Khawaja he has been one of Aus' best players on tour... I suspect that Hughes and Clarke are mates or something, but seriously, I don't understand the selection policy at all.
