Does anyone have any experience of (accidently
) damaging bats that are stored in the external pocket of a cricket bag?
I've recently bought a cricket bag with an external pocket (though with wheels and a full length hard plastic base for rigidity) that's just short of a length to comfortably fit the bat inside (as I'd prefer)....though if the bat is in the outside bit, is it not a) under pressure to be 'flexed' (i.e. it shouldn't be the 'spine' of the bag) and b) Not more liable for damage as any direct contact with the outside (putting it into cars etc) is only 1 thin sheet of nylon from damaging the willow?
I resort to carrying the gear in 2 for now (bat in a sleeve and the bag with the rest of the gear), though would I not need to worry about putting my (chuffing expensive!) pride and joy in the bag?!
It's not like the inside isn't a safe haven away from the stupidly sharp edges of my Masuri grill either...!
