Ah I see, that makes sense then. Was just interested as if I am going to spend the extra money it would be nice to get something lighter than my current one as well as being safer, more comfortable etc. Still a long time til next season so I guess I can wait around to see what happens with this and then finally make the 5minute trip up the road to Ayrtek HQ which I have long threatened!

Gents

The pictures only do a certain amount of justice.

First hand, I can tell you that the service from Tom is first class.
I am confident that Masuri/Albion are not as readily available to discuss your options in the manner that Tom is.

End of season refurbs are available to get rid of those scuffs and scratches; we all know what happens once the outer material begins to tear/fray/degrade etc. (On other brands)

The ability to personalise is a major attraction for us Club players, this isn't a purchase that will get chucked in the bag with no due care and attention. You can put as much thought into your lid as you can your willow and make it something that you can respect and appreciate for seasons and seasons.

Add up what those benefits mean to you as a cricketer, add the safety factor, the innovation factor and the fact that Tom is UK based and fast emerging in a market that has been dominated for years.....

Worth every penny.

Ha ha, I know I know, it's almost too close!

And DK I can definitely see the advantages I just need to justify the outlay now that I have a similar issue to Tom...saving for a wedding!!

So, is the premier safer tham a masuri? I'm guessing yes, made out of the same materials?

How much lighter is the Ti grill over a steel, just wondering as if I got a premier off of you then I would swap my dads ayrtek Ti grill for my masuri one

Would premier with Ti be lighter than a masuri Ti
Premier is safer than a Masuri due to shape. The Masuri peak deforms if hit straight on. The shell on the Premier that I have originally had a steel grill, and this combination felt lighter than the masuri I had before it.

Ha excellent tactics! I have been authorised to buy another bat following the proposal though  ;)
Fortunately she wants a winter wedding so no worries about decimating my club for a weekend!

Top stuff Tom, really considering getting one of these. Are you gonna be in any retailers down south? Really want to try one on with my meatball head before buying one

We are in talks with several retailer already...and even more after yesterday!!!

We are looking to have the shops supplied with them for the end of October for the pre-Xmas sales period, once we have clarified all the retailers that will stock them we will formulate a list/map so everyone can locate their nearest stockist :)

tom, I meant to ask yesterday, will your new bottom of the range lid still be lighter than a masuri lid?

Marginally heavier with a steel grille, I have the masuri steel we have in the office in at 793g vs the Premier Steel @ 814g although we are looking to reduce this figure as this weight was the first samples we had off the tool.
