Modern Pads
« on: September 29, 2011, 06:51:56 PM »

I need to get some new pads and have set my sights on either the Ayrtek Modern pads, CJI Ultimate Pro Tech Youths Batting Pads
or the Aero P2's. At the minute I have P3's (I'm not very tall) but they are a bit small for me. I'm 5ft 3in, and whereas I already know what to expect with the Aero's, I have no idea what the Modern Pads are like since I will not get to try them on before I purchase as there is no shop. So I could just do with some help towards what the pads are actually like? Do they get in the way when driving like most pads do? That's why I like my Aero's, they wrap around your leg and do not obstruct shots at all. I like the look of the CJI's, but don't know what they are like. I would just like some suggestions and some detailed descriptions of what the Modern Pad's and the CJI's are like?

Cheers

Anyone got a photo of the Ayrtek pads being worn? Hard to imagine from the photo what they look like/feel like to wear.

I really want some Aero P1s with the blue wash design on the back. Alas, the money avoids me :(

Ive been using them (CCC) for the last year and they are great for protection and extremely lightweight.
Guaranteed to wind up any opposition

Id love to try a traditional style pad made with the same material as the modern pads which are moulded foam id imagine. Very few of us would face 90mph bowling so Test Match protection, bulky and wide pads would be of no use to me.

Yeah, I think the Flextechs are a little bit expensive. The main thing I am worried about is them obstructing shots. I've only ever had aero pads so I now play very close to my leg, and after using my mates newbery pads I keep hitting them when I play shots. i don't think the ayrtek ones will get in my way, i might get them
