Aero P1 Hand Protector Gloves thing review
« on: October 06, 2011, 06:39:24 PM »

After using these gloves once in the nets, i thought I would review them, as they are very hard to get an idea of before you buy.

When I first opened them, they are surprising. At first they do look a bit strange. They are basically a golf glove with a silicon palm, then a massive lump of foam along the back. When you first wear them, they are very snug fitting and very comfortable. You have to get used to gripping the bat a bit differently, because for me I automatically gripped too hard when I first batted. Since the gloves are already pre-bent, once you get used to them it's much easier to grip the bat. The grip, by the way, is fantastic. Your gloves stick to the bat grip. When I play shots with the gloves (I know it sounds a bit gimmicky) I seem to connect with the ball better. You definitely drive the ball more surely, more forcefully. When you put out your hand straight, the foam lifts from your hand, and the cooling system actually works really well. My hands don't get anywhere near as hot. Overall, a good buy (£57.99 from Barrington Sports for the P1's).

One word of warning. I have big hands and bought a set from Barrington. They were too small. There is a size measure on the outside of the box and my hand extended beyond the large size.

I once tried them and was like "what the f is this?"

No offense to you or your gloves but these are just not in my cup of tea.

I had a pair of p3's and they were amazing, definitely better when used with their bat grip though.

I will admit they do look pretty weird. When I first got them I was kinda shocked, they look very different in the flesh. But they grow on you! If you get some, I would get at least a size too big. I have tiny hands and these are size medium.

Yes that's definitely advisable, got some xs and only used them for 5 weeks because they were so small.
