Anyone knowingly used a Larsons Bat - and was it any good?
« on: October 08, 2011, 08:04:56 PM »

I'm just knocking in a Larsons bat to use in the winter nets. It was dead, dead cheap but it feels like it has a really decent and really long middle.

I once had one from the Dark Lord Brimblemort (he who must not be named) and it was a fantastic, pingy middle on a chunky blade.

Just wondered if anyone else had much experience in using one (I know they come under various other brands stickers) and if they thought they were any good.

They strike me as a batmaker who flies a little under the radar.

Our overseas swears by them and I've used a couple of his. He had some very special ones, which had a scrumptious middles but weren't that forgiving. Big, chunky blades and really well balanced. I wouldn't be disappointed if I owned one.

I have used RNS bats and they are really very good. The one I used was the Euro or the EuroPlus and it was magnificent. But got mine directly from the factory

Excellent bats. I had a top of the line bat (also sourced from the factory like Yash) and regret gifting it to a promising young batter in our team!

You see a few on e-bay occasionally. Most RNS you will come across will have a boutique brand's labels on them, so you wouldn't know.

I've had a couple of Grade 1's made up from them in different shapes between 2lb8oz-2lb9oz and these bats are really good.
Massive bats for the weights with very good grains, good finishes and good handles. For those who like big edges they varied between 35-37mm. Performance is very good and they don't seem to be overdried clefts. Service and communication is also very good.
Tom was spot on in mentioning that they supply many brands with bats.

First impression seems decent, under 2lb 9, decent grains and a healthy profile..
