Just noticed fusion have added new soft goods to website

what does everybody think? really like the keeping gloves!

I like the design on the Keeping Gloves and the bags are an improvement on last year. I think everything looks wise is better than last year, and the Blue stickers are growing on me certainly. Prices are possibly 10% more than I'd happily pay though.

yea would prob agree about prices, �70 for pads and �50 for gloves is more than i paid for the ones i have and i would doubt if these are better quality

Look nice, but again for �50 (or cheaper) you can get better batting gloves with pittard leather for nay of the big names. Similarly for the pads. I rather pay �70 for Morrant Untralite International or Puma Flextecs etc....

Website could benefit from some more images and description of these items....

one thing i fail to understand, why does Fusion keep the Price and RRP the same. They will be the first company to achieve a price same as RRP.

If they get some retailer to stock/sell their goods, they would struggle selling themselves. Traditionally, the retailers give you a much better price than buying directly from the company.

Moreover, finding a stockist and convincing him to have a price = RRP will be difficult.

One of these figures have to change. Obviously the price. Gloves - �35 to �40 (max) and Pads �55 max. Obvious including VAT and postage

It may be because they need to enter an RRP as part of the coding on the website. I suppose they could just add �10 onto the sale price and call that RRP, but you'd end up paying the same price.

I do agree with a couple of you though after P+P the prices are looking a bit too steep, but if Fusion feel those prices can be achieved that's fair enough.

By the way Yash a retailer can sell at whatever price he wants to, the RRP only bears relation to trade price.

For example if a pair gloves were �70 RRP, they'd cost just under �38 at trade price (cost to retailer) and they'd be then sold at whatever the retailer wishes. Which would more than likely be around �55.

I feel better pictures are important as mentioned previously, especially the batting gloves and pads. I do feel that they are fairly over priced though, �70 for the pads would certainly not be payed by me. Even though I would rather support companies like Fusion over the big brands I would definately prefer to buy the Kookaburra Sub Zero's at �50 as I do like the Kookaburra softs. I have got a pair of Fusion gloves from last year which I picked up for around �20 in the sale, the new ones look fairly similar (from what I can see) and would say that �50 is very expensive, can get top of the range gloves from big brands for that price. Overall the new softs do look good and with the price increases from last year there are obviously going to be questions asked about the quality which can only be answered by people have tried them.

Echoing pretty much what everyone else has said, the new stuff looks great, but seems far too expensive. Are the pads ambidextrous? Apart from high end lightweight pads, such as the Warsop Spindrift and Morrants, I always associate ambidextrous pads with naff, bottom end, village cricket kit bag equipment

I prefer sausage gloves, and traditional style pads, so the Fusion range would suit me, but I'd be getting better value if I got Kookaburra Ice pads & gloves, or Gray Nic Powerbow pads & gloves.

Incidentally, all of my current soft goods are fusion (gloves, pads & thigh pads) - and collectively I paid something daft like �40

Tom, what I am pointing out is how can be the selling price and RRP be the same. I have not across this scenario ever. If you recall this was the problem with the Fusion LE bat and then Fusion changed he RRP to 300+

However, I feel �50 for normal leather gloves without pittard leather is too much. Cannot comment about the quality as most big English and Aussie brands get them made from companies in India and Pakistan.

The point I am making is that prices will increase, but one has to benchmark the prices with similar products from other brands.

Would you pay �40-�45 for Fusion or �45 for Salix Pod 1 Grade 1 or a Newbery or a Kookaburra?

I would love to support small upcoming companies but they have to be realistic in their expectations. The smaller business have lower overheads and thus can offer more competitive prices to their customers and create a strong customer base. It has to be a win-win situation, otherwise who cares.
