Blueroom Refurb...
« on: October 14, 2011, 03:44:39 PM »

Finished refurbishing my blueroom New Wave custom  (review/ thread can be found here... http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=9332.0 ) yesterday and thought you guys would be interested in the before/ during and after picture.

Decided to remove all the blueroom stickers, give it a good sand and wax and then apply some shiny new stickers purchased from Greg Chappell cricket centre  :D

Though some nice puma ones would be apt seen as it was made by the head puma bat maker. let me know your thoughts!!

Quite pleased with the results!

P.s. i will kill anyone who mentions that the stickers are the wrong way around...I'd prefer not to know lol   :P

Looks good. Did you have to pay any custom/import charges for the stickers?

No, i bought them and had them shipped to a friend in oz then her dad shipped them to the UK. GCCC wanted $50 to post to the UK, so i got 2 sets of pink reserve for simmy and another lad at our club and these for me. Oh and a couple of grips too.

The only reason i ordered some was because some of the other lads got some too or i wouldn't have bothered ( all shared the P&P). Worked our cheaper to ship them to Oz ($10.00) then to the UK ($30.00).

Yeah no problem...

1st removed the hammer edge and stickers
Remove all the glue with a stanley knife blade (keeping it at a 90 degree angle) so not to damage, cut the wood
start the sanding process with around an 120 grit paper (with power sander).
once a rough sand is complete, remove all the dust with a little water on some kitchen role
Leaved to dry
Same process again using 120 grit but this time working up to a very fine (think it was a 200 grit ill have to check) then I used some wax to give it a good buff and to replace some of the moisture taken out from the sanding
Repeat until happy with the finish...i them left it for a few days before applying the stickers.

Tools you will need are...power sander, sand paper, drill, buffing bit for drill, wax oh and a stanley knife blade
