Newbery Cenkos, it really isn't that expensive
« on: October 18, 2011, 04:18:43 PM »

Now before guns are blazed at me!

Think about it. I am quite sure most of us have spent at least 1000 Pounds in bats so rather than buying 3-10 bats in 1000 Pounds one can save up and just buy one bat, like Newbery Cenkos.

No?

That way it doesn't really make Newbery Cenkos very expensive LOL :D

I'd also say most only ever use a couple of them because if you get runs with a bat, why would you then change it, or is that just me?

I haven't even spent £1000 on all the bats I have bought in my life!

in 20 years of buying bats, I thing I have only just got to a grands expenditure on willow, but interesting reasoning.

sounds more like a justification thread to me. Is there something you need to share with us?

Haha not yet Buzz I did think of selling few more bats last night and try one of this but then since me being in Canada it is somewhat pointless as I won't be able to go down to workshop.

thing is, would you want to walk out to bat in a match with one?  Aside from being absolutely terrified of breaking it, the sledging would be merciless!

That's okay. We'll go for you and take an old style powerbow to make sure you get the bat you want copied perfectly...

You could get a Powerbow copied in similar performing willow from the same batmaker for much less. Spending £1000 would just be for vanity.

Trust me, that £1000 will seem much more once you go out and earn it.

haha i was going to make this thread following our conversation last night....

I think the problem with us folk on here is we tend to buy our bats blind and have no idea how the bat will feel when we're giving out 'our must have criteria' to the batmakers.....

i have spent a fair bit on willow in the last year and would trade it all for one bat i am completely 100% happy with....

but I'm not sure id spend 1k on a cenko's i think id rather just go to Romida and choose one(or two) there

only cenkos i've seen ...
£1000 is a bit obscene if you ask me, especially if you already have more bats than sense...

this is from a great picture blog, by the way. www.sarahcanterbury.com
