Which bat to choose
« on: October 19, 2011, 06:14:17 PM »

I am seriously tempted by the october forum offer but im not sure which bat to go for. i like the look of monster or the hattori but not sure which one would suit my game best (like to think im a proper bat but in all honesty i like a hoik!)

i usually have a 2.9 bat so i wonder if the monster is perhaps a bit too heavy for me.

can anyone advise from purchasing a H4L before?

I have a 2.9 Hattori and a 2.10 666. Both are excellent bats. I wen't a bit lighter with the Hattori as I usually use a 2.10 to allow for the difference in pick-up with it having a lower middle and considering the amount of wood in the blade it picks-up well. The 666 picks up very well, a lot lighter than the dead weight - prob 2-3 ounces lighter.

As Canners and 97 n.o. have said, you can't go wrong with H4L - I am very pleased with mine. The easiest way is to PM or email Matt with your specs and go from there.

why dont u just ask matt if he has any light wood in and cant make u a monster size bat at 2.10?

my excel is 2.12 and has 40mm edges
my hattori is 2.9 n has 36mm edges

both i my bats have low middles and they pick up slightly bottom heavy. but this is how i like them :D

Best advice on this page really. Matt knows his bats best, and you know how you play best.

have to say that my 666 is a lovely bat, although it remains a little lightly used...

I've Pm'd matt and have already started "discussions". Was just looking for advice and other people experiences really.
