Which match balls for next season
« on: October 29, 2011, 03:06:12 PM »

Hi

I expect this topic has been done many times, but please can I have your advices on which match balls I should purchase for next season.  As it is a new team our funds are limited, I would hope to pay between £8-£12 per ball.

If it helps we have 3 fast bowlers and two spinners, both of whom bowl leg breaks

many thanks

we used these last season:

very long lasting - indeed they use it in the subcontinental test matches, but the service from online stockist is debatable. Although in my 3 orders they have been fine.

Were they okay for your bats?

I have seen SG top of the line balls in action and they were very damaging to the bat.

Guys how much are good quality safe for bats Dukes balls?

Is this for league games? We are governed by our board which balls we use. We use Tiflex but not the infamous county champ 2 standard

C-D Dukes balls are fine. They swing loads with the new ball but don't harm your bats as they are very well made.

We use either the Ambassador, Royal Crown or Special Crown Match balls at our club.

Morrant balls for Sunday games, which are alright as well!

Raje balls or Shamrock balls, both last very well and fall in or below your price range if you buy in bulk.

Our balls are made from the highest quality material and we have supplied to many academies. I am happy to send a sample ball at discounted price if someone wants to test it. Best way to find the quality of a cricket ball is cut in half and see what kind of material is used. I can only say that you won't be disappointed with the quality from us.
Same balls are sold for 16 to 20 pounds
regards
ASAD

I don't know much about them, I only know about the ones we have. The ones we use in the leagues are very very good, they last for 55 overs easily (new ball for 2nd innings..). They're still in good shape and can swing after that time and make great net balls once they have been used in a game..

The most expensive ones are the Royal County ones..see this link:

Hope that helps mate :)

Cheers for the link

I remember the writing on the ball was one which is in this link;

http://www.morrant.com/cricket_balls/dukes_special_county_grade_1_cricket_ball/105771_p.html

Ouch that is very expensive

Which ones do you club use exactly? Ambassdor and is it that one which last 55 overs?

No worries: these are the ones our 2s and 3s use:
http://www.morrant.com/cricket_balls/dukes_special_crown_match_a_cricket_ball__red/46649_p.html

I find they last well for 55 overs..and more after in the nets..

All Dukes balls are good though mate.

Yeah, the balls are red. Like any others, we don't use white balls in England as we don't have lights and black sightscreens readily available..?
