Very very light bats design..
« on: November 04, 2011, 12:11:14 PM »

Guys,

looking ahead into the future when i return to cricket its likely my shoulder will be weak, therefore i am going to need an uber light bat to use for a while until all strength returns, i think i am talking 2lb 5 or 6, going for a blank bat as 1. stickers dont bother me 2. that should save a bit of weight and 3. it gives me more options as i can just pick the bat shape i want and not bother about nice shiny stickers!

Wondered what the best design to go for a light bat would be...i am after something that doesnt have a high middle, has minimal of concaving as possible as i know the temptation for a very light bat would be a hell of a lot of concaving, not bothered about edge size...was looking around at styles that could have very light bats made out of them with minimal differences but am struggling!

any thoughts appreciated!

Peplow if you got one of these I would have to demand a friendly against your lot just so I could have a chuckle at you and your CHIC!

I'd take the chic stickers of that!

Look at the Mjoiner I would, a 2lbs 6oz one of them would be good, dan griffin had one on here and it was of good size

i guess any classis profile would suit. something like the newb mjolnir or maybe the new gm 1885 or whatever the year is. i remember playing against someone this year who had the thinnest GM ive ever seen. edges at the shoulder were like toothpicks. think it was a flare. toe was pretty small too. picked it up and it weighed nothing

my raje bat in the sale section picks up like a dream for a 2'7/8. Has a nice thick handle which helps.

are you on the short side? If so a harrow might work for you. My daughter got a cracking harrow from Raje, decent edges and not much concaving for a 2'5oz stickered/scuffed. Failing that, get a custom made bat. I got a harrow length/full width bat. Allows for some cheating on the amount of wood in the middle due to the shortened length. Could even go for a SSH as well.

tbh, it's got the least amount of stickering of any bat i've seen recently so it wouldn't make much difference compared to an adidas.

I had been considering a ssh, or an inch of the blade and onto the handle..
