Xmas time interest...
« on: November 17, 2011, 08:25:38 PM »

Guys,

S+J are looking at possibly running a forum xmas raffle for you guys...giving you the chance for a lovely xmas gift you werent expecting!

We are simply gauging interest currently as we would like to be sure that we can cover the costs of the prizes because profit isnt the name of the game at xmas. Winners drawn by the xmas eve (or xmas day..not sure if they have an xmas day draw?)

If we are looking at 6 prizes, one for each of the lottery number draws then we would need to shift as near to the full quota of lottery numbers, 49 tickets at a tenner. This would also eradicate the eventuality of the number not being drawn. This would also ensure we have a higher % of prize winners and some decent prizes like TWO top end bats, a full set of fusion multistumps with base, sidearm pro, single fusion multistump and sidearm club.

However we understand money is tight at xmas and so there may not be a market for it but hopefully the xmas spirit can prevail and everyone can get involved!

We're interested to hear your thoughts...we may run it like a sponsorship thing in that you can register up for a number, but dont have to pay until the required number of people is met!  but we'll wait and see...

I reckon you would be better off doing 1 top end bat, maybe the good looking cf bat you had available and selling tickets for £5 ago. Be a lot easier to shift 49 tickets that way.

Yeah a good point, will be taking all you say on board before deciding what to do :)

I agree with d7bow. A lot easier to justify a 5er, than a 10er. I would like 38 please.

37 please when we are able to pay.

Taking a bat out would lower the cost to £6.50 a ticket, but it would reduce the prizes to 5 and be taking out a big prize. I shall hold a vote as to which you think we should go for, as ultimately, you are the ones that will be running the raffle, and i odnt want to exclude someone at the £10 mark that may have purchased one for £6.50.

for the 3.50 extra would you rather have double the chance of winning a bat?

right guys, we have decided to go the way of £10 per ticket, with the full 6 prizes to match the number of lottery numbers drawn. The extra £3.50 was deemed to be worth having another bat into the prize draw, and many of you seemed unbothered by the £10 in ocmparison to  the £6.50 so we will go with the majority. I will lock this now and start up a thread with the whole situation and nubmers etc.
