Bits of kit for next season
« on: December 03, 2011, 07:54:47 PM »

I'm sorting out all my kit for next year and need a few bits of stuff so wondered if any of you had recommendations.

First off I need some new socks, Looks like the best ones either seem to be horizon or 1000 mile. I've read somewhere that the 1000 mile are a bit of a pain to put on, has anyone found that? Horizon seem a bit cheaper so if they're as good and not as much hassle to put on I might get those.

Next up my redback doesn't have a toe guard on, loads of topics on here about shoe goo, is that better than a normal toe guard? Being honest I'm a bit useless so im not sure if I'd make a decent job of putting the shoe goo on.

Finally just wondering if anyone has used the gray nics coverpoint legging things that are like cheap versions of the skins. Got loads of friction burns last year on my knees from cheap sports direct trousers so I'm going to invest in some better ones for this year (prob Nike gameday trousers) but wondering about getting some of these too. Are these any good, do they have a built in bit to hold a box?

Thanks in advance for any replies, next year will be my first year back playing weekend cricket in about 12 years so trying to think of any little bits I'll need and get them sorted out.

These are a couple of options for leggings.

The New Balance ones say they have an MP3 player pocket, possibly you could pop your box in there?

I have Horizon socks and they are brilliant, much better than GM ones I tried.
