Okay I get your point. But to have more uniformly thick edges either he thickness will have to be reduced in the striking area or the weight will have to be increased greatly.

If I am not mistaken you are pointing towards tapered edges, which are more uniform in thickness. However, these will be more prone to damage on mishits.

Unfortunately, today's version of One days and20/20 warrant need for bid edges so that even mishits turn into scoring shots....

Well said Yash, I agree with you on that.

Unfortunately I do not know enough terminology to carry on this argument... When I see a bat with a profile I like I will give you a shout and tell you what i mean

Bucko, mate I am not arguing with you just trying to understand your view point and explaining mine to you. A bat profile is the last thing to argue on.

I am no bat geek, just my view on the profile and why is it becoming so common and begin adapted by many bat makers.

For me a good bat is one with which i can score runs profile is immaterial for me as you can see I have bats with different profiles in my kit.

Yeah and I have no problem with everyones individual choice, I just personally feel I would be able to score more runs with a slightly more traditional bat... Although I don't think I'll be scoring many runs with my newly cracked GM icon (see new post!)... If you have any pointers on that yash then much appreciated :)
