OK, so why does that happen then? you can play a pull shot early, rotate the wrists and still hit it along the ground thru mid on. See what buzz has to say.

Not sure that you can, unless you're pulling the ball from well outside the line of off stump? 

Why it happens?  Well, as VT says, physics, basically.  If you think of where you strike a ball when pulling - for me and I suspect most people, out in front of the body above waist height - the rotation/breaking of the wrists is first needed to get the middle of the bat to the ball in good time.  In terms of controlling the shot, rolling the wrists over the top allows you to drag the ball down, but you can just as easily rotate them clean through the ball with the bat going from down to up and hit the ball over the top.

As for Buzz's comments, I agree that there may not be much need for technical changes anyway.  I always figure that I change things if they are persistently getting me out, but otherwise figure that it is natural for one's game to change/develop over time.

Ah yeah ok, makes sense then. You can still spank a pull shot square for 6, if you get in the right position.

And have a massive bat Best way to do it is off a rubbish spinner that you have got to dig one in short by pretending to charge. Then you can hit them for massive sixes!

Difficult to bowl and bat at the same time otherwise this would have been so easy for me
