Tendulkar
« on: December 20, 2011, 08:47:47 PM »

Pinched this from my friends in another forum:

Canberra, Dec 19 (IANS) The man who is keeping India's batting great Sachin Tendulkar busy at the nets has no credentials to warrant being part of the tour. But Tendulkar has made sure that D.V.G.I. Raghavindraa was part of the touring party.
The 27-year-old Raghavindraa, an employee with Bangalore's National Cricket Academy (NCA), has never played a first-class match but is playing a key role in India's quest to win their first Test series on Australian soil.
Raghavindraa's throw-down skills have benefitted not only Tendulkar but Rahul Dravid as well. Instead of facing bowlers at the nets, Tendulkar kept himself busy with the throw-downs from Raghavindraa at the Manuka Oval.
Raghavindraa helped Tendulkar prepare for the barrage of outswingers he is likely to receive from young gun James Pattinson.

Is that a backhander to India's bowlers? Surely they have enough heat to keep him on his toes? Apparently not.

Actually, does anyone know who really makes his bats? My dad always says that they're probably made by some one-armed man in India who knows "The Secret of the Willow"

Well given that Sachin lives in London, just near Lords - I would suspect that the one armed man is actually in England - but he also has family contections with those good folk at BAS

I am curious to know what he uses to protect his right elbow. Haven't seen this in the market for tennis elbow issues.

Didn't Nasser use this? I think it keeps the joint in its socket.

Yes, Protos.

They sponsor VVS who has "PRO" stickers on his bats. The bats they make for other professional cricketers who are sponsored by other companies has "PR" on the edges

Sorry, after looking online I was wrong (I was unsure to begin with, hence the I think!).

PR is actually Premier.
