removing scuff sheet
« on: December 27, 2011, 06:05:07 PM »

any ideas or help at how to best do this? its a bat i was given during last season.
a Hunts County clipper i think not sure of its quality or performance because not had much chance to use it
im not too keen on the Hunts stickers (they are the older ones ,i.e 5 or so years old) and want to completely renovate it to the best of my ability and maybe some new stickers.
firstly i need to remove the scuff sheet, from what i can tell the sheets been on since new. dont want to remove it and be left with the wood being all sticky and messy.
is there a method or anything i can do to stop this and remove it cleanly,or if not how can i clean it up once its removed?

any help would be appreciated
cheers

Make sure you remove it sideways from one edge to the other and not top to bottom or it'll take off a lot of wood. After that if there is no glue on there then a quick sand will do it. If there is glue then scrape it off then sand.

hairdryer always helps loosen glue, pull slowly across the bat, and it should minimise the problems!
