what about the millichap and hall?

That bat will be used at some point but those four are going to be match bats, there is lot of time till season my list might change and few might be added but Screaming Cat and Laver will be in the bag for sure!

They pick up nicely but are not fully knocked etc yet, will try to knock them prior to use or play them in.

Ten bats.

3 GM LE's
3 Gray Nicolls
2 TK
1 SF
1 Fisher

A Sikh mate of mine has texted me from India informing me he has bought me an SS LE bat in 2.8!

Anyone got one that can tell me what they are like?

They are good bats no doubt, specially for the price; the sweetspot is a little low and the pick up will be like other SS bats. Overall a very very good bat for the price. Once you start using it you will realize that SS bats pressing is quite good!!

I have never used an SS bat, so no idea what the pick up will be like.

If the pressing is good, then that is a great start!

Pick up is never a strong point of SS because of its low sweetspots; I have not used the Platinum or the Gladiator ranges so not sure how those pick up. The handle will always be round and a little on the thin side.

Ask Asad about SS pickup on the Glads and other models, as he hand picks all his bats.

Dunno, I have a couple - one an old match bat and one very much a net bat - and both of them pick up really well.  Yes, the sweetspot is on the lower end, but they don't "feel" the dead weight particularly - indeed, you'd never know that the match bat was 3lb 4oz dead!!!

Agree that the handles are not the best though - they're really three grippers!

I did not mean the pick-up will be bad always, but in my experience it normally leaves a little to be desired. The strong point of SS is the quick ball response.

i've got a couple of SS plat reserves from Asad and they are both outstanding, 2.10, decent amount of wood though a lot of concaving, picks up as light as anything else i have in that weight and way better then a Ton le in the same weight, and better than a salix in the same weight, middles look a little low, but play very long actually, my only complaint would be round handles, i prefer ovals
