Removing the (burnt on) branding from the sides of bats
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:13:15 PM »

Is this possible, without looking (for want of a better word) 'stupid' (or noticeable)?

I assume it can be done with enough sanding, though will it end up looking like a woodworm!?

hard work for the effort, wouldn't think there was a  great reason for doing so...

...unless...

...hold on, are you one of those Pros who don't use their sponsor's bats?   8)

A bit of a long shot but what about a woodfiller?

Busted!

BlankBats*, my official sponsor for the next few seasons, prohibits me from any competitors branding ;)

Tbh it's not the end of the world, will just keep it on. Or I'll just be swapping the black branded bit for cherried edges that made it to 2nd.

(*for removal of doubt, this is not strictly true)

I was thinking the same. I don't own a branded bat so I don't know how deep the impression of the branding is, but if it's 2-3mm as others have suggested then mixing willow saw dust with Eva wood glue may provide a neat result.

Otherwise, could you not paint in the branding with a white paint texta or similar?
