Ali Cook bat selecting
« on: January 04, 2012, 09:15:38 AM »

Nice video here of A Cook picking his bats to blunt Pakistan with ...
Interesting that his Ashes bats were stickered Legends and that he is taking them from general pro stock, rather than have them custom made, or at least that's the suggestion...

More like GN are trying to be clever with their marketing. Maybe the willow quality is the same, but the shapes will be different.

Thing with Cook is you'll never love him, never rate him and he'll never feature on the top 10 batsman of all time and the his batting will never be on anybodies watch list.

However, when he finishes his career they'll be every chance he'll be up with the greats and possibly the highest run scorer in test history. People will always underestimate him.

Would disagree with most of that.  But then I am a nuggety left handed opening bat myself!  Cook will break all of the English runscoring records, and he'll have a good crack at a lot of the worldwide ones.  For an opening bat to be averaging 50 when half of his innings come against the Dukes ball in England is an outstanding effort, and eclipses the likes of Sehwag in my opinion.  He is staggeringly good.

In comparison to the pretty boys of KP and Bell, to put it in context. Who got ICC player of the year - Trott.
