Storing grips
« on: January 06, 2012, 06:46:37 PM »

Right I've just brought a load of grips that will probably last me the next 5 seasons. How and where shall I store them so that they dont lose their rubbery feel? They are not packaged in anyway

Cheers

I'd say in a shoe box perhaps, if you find them drying out then just wash them with water and let em dry out and rubbery feel will be there.

in a warm dry place where they won't change temperature much. preferably not in a garage.

I would have said cool place Buzz, as the rubber then is less likely to lose its elasticity.  We get some of our grips from a UK manufacturer and their place is pretty cold. As their grips are full latex rubber, they go hard ;) but when held over a warm radiator, they return to their normal flexible state and can then be put on the handle

I'd suggest that once in a while we should throw our grips in washing machine, they come out like new with enough moisture and extremely good grip.

would the bat fit in the washing machine tho?

actually when i stick my goalie gloves in the washine machine it seems to activate the latex quite well and makes them very grippy, so can see this would work

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.
