CI has tweeted M Clarke is signing a sponsorship deal with Spartan cricket. Signing of the century if it goes through?

No, don't think so. He's had a few decent innings recently, and the company is obviously loaded.

I wonder if it's a sponsorship to use the bat or just have the stickers on a bat of his choice haa

Not confirmed yet, but very strong rumours. Spartan have said they've shook hands but not signed it so still could change...

They had singed Johnson prior to his injury, so they are obviously looking for another player and Clarke would be the best availiable, so well done to them if they actually sign him.

At Kingsgrove in NSW you can pick what shape you want, from a 5 set design, and chose the stickers you want. I would avoid getting their stickers as they look terrible.

They also sponsor Benji Marshall from the NRL. But the AFL is where it's at though ;)

Lol at the part where they say Slazanger can console themselves that he at least used their bat. They can console themselves on nothing! hahah :D

Slaz have gained more publicity having cut off the deal than if they had agreed to a new one

Spartan the new woodworm?
Pay big fees and bust in a few yrs.
Mitch Johnson would have cost a fair few Aussie $ to leave kookaburra

And buy your bat knowing around 35% of it went to paying Mr Clarke's fees!

Problem for Spartan I can see is, Aussies have a strong dislike to Pup. The tattoos, the old big diamond earrings.
I'll always remember Day 4 in Sydney last year, the Aussie blokes started chanting 'Tour getting sacked in the morning!'
(ponying was 'injured')
