hey guys,

I have found this really good 5 part doco on cricket in the US.

Its great to see a small cricket nation really developing!

The potential scope for T20 cricket in America is phenomenal, it's the most exciting and shortest for of the game and with possibly 100s of millions of players and spectators it's a ripe market, similar to China. The numbers of potential players means that one of these 2 nations could possibly make the step up into the international arena in the future

Agree with you fully however from a personal point of view I wouldn't like cricket to go big in America, I'd hate to see the commercialism that's happening in the IPL taken to another level, keep it as it is on a small scale for me!

I always assumed that the deterioration in the WI game was down to the single fact that anyone who could bat would pick up baseball (such was the riches/popularity involved) (and without the oppressive historical colonial sentiments cricket brings).

Would be a problem exasperated in the US.

Nowhere will be 'the next India'.

Seeing how the heels of (proper!) football dragged it's heels, I wouldn't hold out much hope.

I'm hoping to move to NY in a few years, so the documentary looks very interesting though!

The Chinese Cricket Assosiation has set a target of qualifying for the world cup in 2019.

Dan if you stay in NY for long enough you could get an American passport and qualify to play for the national team!

USA has a better chance of improving soon enough largely because of the high number of expats and their influence; I don't see China qualifying for the WC in the next ten years.

The US are already improving! they went from world league division 5 to division 3, so thats a start...
