What do you think the Forum 'trend' for 2012 will be?

Thought I would start a topic to see what peoples thoughts are on what the trend is likely to be, or if there is a specific company that will be popular in 2012.

The best new profiles for 2012 are being discussed in another thread - which ones will people actually go out and buy or have replicated by their favourite batmaker? There are brand new ranges from a number of companies such as GM, SAF and Chase, some companies have a new profile such as Newbery with the 'Tour' and Salix with the 'Strike' and then there are those still to be released such as the H4L 'Tempo' and the Black Cat 'F40'.

Are people looking at 'traditional' shaped bats such as the Newbery Mjolnir and the Redback Surefire, modern big edge, low middle profiles or a mix of the two such as the H4L Hattori with 22mm edges which proved popular on here?

It'll be traditional shaped bats, with no concaving in my view.

BlankBats are the forum brand to watch.

I think bats with a fuller back (either no or very minimal concaving) would be the trend.

But would people want to let go of their fixation with the edge size or perhaps move up in their ideal bat weight to get the best of both - fuller back and big edges??

Or finding a balance of the two? I use a 2.10 and the majority I have used are big edged, concaved bats. I have never used a 'traditional' shaped bat such a surefire or Mjolnir but did use a Newbery Grizzly for a while which barely had any concaving whilst having a good sized edge which performed superbly until I stupidly sold it

I think that the forum trend this year will be to buy fewer, better bats...

Forum trend will be cheaper/better valued bats and also more traditional styled bats

Better value seems to be the way to go, quality at an affordable price.
There are more forum sponsors which is a good thing and they are all trying to offer the best deals.

Like tom said, I reckon BlankBats will do well. Possibly with their customers using Revolution stickers on their bats

I had a couple of Grizzly's but cant recall them being big edges. For me they were the most disappointing bats in the Newbery range. But this is just my opinion.

Seen some decent Thruxton latley.

Should do well if they are selling G1 bats for �150 posted. That is fantastic value for money.

At that price people would not mind having at least a couple of them in their kit bags.

That shape I'd expect to be very popular, as would the H4L Mjolnir style shape.
On another note, I compared the response of the BlankBat with an old ball to that of my H4L - the BlankBat rebounded better, without much effort. Yet to compare to my Instinct as it's being sent out soon

Performance in nets will tell the 3 apart, but initial signs are good.

The BB is pretty good off the middle too
