Asics - Rubber Soled Cricket Shoes
« on: January 09, 2012, 09:49:08 PM »

Are Asics doing any cricket shoes that are non-spiked these days?

Looking for some to use on astro and nets.

Bit of a hassle but I just use my asics strike rates and take out the spikes as they're really comfy.

Dunno if they do any specifically without spikes.

We were told they have stopped making the Gel Trigger and the only rubber soled shoe now in the cricket range will be the TR100 (??)

Correction - you are right ... just looked on our order form and they are sending the Gel-Peake instead of the TR100 !

Has anyone seen any of these Gel-Peake shoes?
I quite like the look of them...

Interesting conversation this as I have recently had to buy a new pair of trainers for winter nets. My last two pairs have lasted 3-4 months max as the surface is so abrasive and the grips on the bottom literally get ripped off the shoe. This time I went in the other direction and bought a proper pair of New Balance running shoes off Amazon for £30 (reduced from £75). So far, they aren't showing any wear at all although time will tell.....they're more comfy than most cricket specific shoes as well which is a bonus..

hummm - something like these would work pretty well I would have thought

Good value too  ;)

These are the ones I went for....I'm very pleased with them and seem to stand up to a fair bit of abuse (so far)

I reckon maybe a more 'tennis' oriented shoe might suit the bill perfectly. A flat souled shoe would probably last a bit longer?
