Australia name George Bailey as T20 skipper

Thoughts on this, personally I think its a great idea. I know very little about this guy (being a pom) but a bit of searching around suggests he is a bit of a seasoned county/state pro with a decent FC and list A record. Does this set a precedent for other countries to prioitise the test and one day formats at last!!, who could do the job for other countries? Pollard for WI? McCullum for NZ? at least England are fine with Broad at the helm  :(

odd to make him captain before hes been tested at this level as a player

I think it's quite a brave and bold move!
It looks as though he has a decent track record as captain? So why not!!

Could this be the way forward then?, to almost treat the t20's as an introduction to the international scene without exposing them straight away to the riggers of Test and one dayers. Nearly every international side has a different test and one day skipper now as well, there might be a few exceptions...

It's not as though he's new to the position!
He's been successful with Tas, and and has captained Aus A. So it should be a good tester to see if he can do the same at full international level?

He's hopeless.

I like Bailey. Great cricketer and captain. Of course T20 has nothing to do with either of them, but hopefully he does well.

He'll be the first Australian since the very first test match to debut for his country as captain.

I don't know much about Bailey but Cameron White always seemed so hit and miss.

Australia have also recalled brad hogg at the ripe age of 40 for the T20's
