2 bats - classic style profile and Distinction attempt
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:19:26 PM »

Distinction weighs in at 2.9 and a bit with one grip. 25mm edges and approx 60 spine height. Made from a standard size grade 2 cleft so edges are slightly thinner than i would do with a oversized cleft. good pick up.

classis shape weighs in pretty much the same. no concaving. 20mm edges and approx 45mm spine. grade 3 willow

sorry about the pics.

They look really good! Distinction looks excellent. As ever, the question I ask to everyone who has made a bat, how did you do the concaving?

think i definately need to learn to take better pics.

concaving wise i use a combination of a handful of round bottom planes and a couple of travishers. depends on how much concaving im doing

Yeah with all the talk recently about it I thought I'd give it a go. Much prefer it to the old
Shape distinction.

So do I. That's the shape I've attempted for simmy. Still only rough shaping done. Just can't believe how massive it still is lol

They look really nice  :)

What does the mallet test say? Any thoughts of using them yourself in the near future?
