Dr Streaky (if I can be so bold as to use this name...!), what should the measurements on a GM Icon + be then according to the DXM machine settings..??

Badly by the sounds of it, using the ruler app on my mobile from the start of the edge upwards. Including the curve on the face and my dodgy methods it could be 60mm.

Here's the 808+ at 2'10.6:-

and here is the 707 I had at 2'9:-

Bear in mind the photos are at different angles and distances. Without a doubt the GM 808+ has more wood on the edges.

the side on profile of my 606 is here - I have to admit, I don't see a whole load of difference either...

I think the main difference is edge size, from memory my 707 was around 30mm and this is 35mm. I also think the edges are thicker all the way down the bat. If the spine height is the same then it's simply a little less concaving, which to some extent can be seen in the pictures but more apparent in real life.

If you look closely i think there is little concaving on the 808+ compared to 707..so even though it might not look a whole lot bigger than 707 the 808+ actually has more wood...but that could be just me being depth blind :)

The GM+ bats (both Flare and Icon) are 3mm to 4mm bigger than the standard shape. Swell on an Icon should be around 67mm (from face to spine - i.e. not from edge to spine) if that makes sense.

just to confirm that Dr Streaky is right and I am crap at measuring. I adopted the well known technique of two cd's and insulating tape with tape measure technique. Couldn't quite get the cd's 100% upright but it's around the 65mm mark, maybe a couple of mm out, from the top of the spine to front of the face:-

Before anybody says the tape measure isn't on zero - this pic was for show and no way could I balance a camera, get 2 cd's dead upright and align the tape measure at the same time.

bounced a ball on it and it certainly seems responsive. Just got to borrow a bat hammer and give it a proper knocking in.
