Vindico Signature Plus Gloves: A Brief Glance
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:16:00 PM »

I got these recently and wanted to share my experience/opinion with everyone.

These are Vindico Signature Plus cricket gloves. Vindico is a small company based in the US, started by two friends who are selling bats and softs for the last one year under the name of Vindico. I came to know both the owners recently and they seem like nice chaps.

These gloves are of course made in the subcontinent and are being sold for 70 dollars a pair at this point.

Here is what I thought about them:

I really liked the design and the color combination. It seems a little different from what we are used to. The gloves feel comfortable as well but I am sure they are not using Pittards palm. I am currently using a Slaz Elite as my match gloves and the Slaz is much softer in the feel of the leather. I have not had the chance to look at the protection part as I have not yet played with the Vindico ones. The good thing about them is they come 'pre-knocked' and I don't think there is any need to break them in so to speak. The finishing could be better. The price could be a tad lower. And the other thing I noticed is the small size of the gloves: I am 5'11" and with average sized paws but these seem to fit a bit tight; I don't think it has enough space to accommodate batting inners. But the design and color are definitely the strong points of this; the palm too has some snippets of designing creativity. I also particularly liked the big velcro straps which seem much more sturdy and dependable than my Slaz Elites'. I spoke with the owner and he said that they are trying their best to improve the quality and are also coming out with some new designs.

So overall, a pretty good job from these guys. I just wish they make the gloves a little bigger.

Here are some pictures for you guys; let me know if you have any questions.

These gloves remind me of Italy/Ferrari colour scheme styling wise. I like them to look at but could never wear them if you know what I mean ;)

I don't know why but I think these gloves remind me of a pair of Slazenger Glove's I had. However just a different colour. They do look very nice gloves indeed.

They look almost exactly like this years puma calibre 5000 gloves, same design and palm with the funny vented bits on the fingers.

Not my favourite looking gloves but they're probably made at the same place that makes puma softs and probably cheaper.

that's what I was thinking.  I think I read somewhere from Puma that this style is inspired by ice hockey, which they surely resemble.  no doubt comfortable and offer excellent protection, but style wise, a bit too 'transformers' for me.

If Prada made batting gloves, this is what they would look like. :)

The price seems a bit steep else they're a winner in my books.

I really like them. They are obviously made in same factory as Puma ones, so they must be excellent
