coloured cricket pads.
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:24:26 PM »

I've picked up a pair of player issue (england one day) Puma Iridium 5000 pads, problem - they are dark blue. Our league play in white.. I would love to use them, and whilst I don't really care what people think of me if I wander out to the middle in blue pads (in white kit), I open the batting and I am not keen on facing scarcie comments for the duration of an entire innings..

What to do? Should I play in them regardless? I don't want to spray them.. Any other options?

let me know.

You would've thought that would be a reasonable conclusion to come to, however - good price and impulsivity go hand in hand.. I like them:)

Will they allow you to play in colored pads when the uniform is white?

If you were in my team i'd cut the straps so you couldn't wear them  :D

Theres always the option of clads, although seeing as they were designed to do the opposite of what you need they might not get made in white

try clads4pads, i'm not sure if they do white but they do grey which would just cover up the blue!

I'm a big fan of colour in cricket and feel a club should be able to play in colour just like in ODI cricket. I think its great you went for coloured pads.

I feel one of two things is going to happen.

1. You walk out to the middle, get a load of stick and you go on to make a ton+ and the other team will never forget you and you go down in folk law.

2. You walk out to the middle, get a load of stick and get out for next to nothing, take a load more stick and the other team will never stop laughing.

Also every time teams in you league play they will ask eachother if they have seen the guy with the blue pads?

So to sum up, I like the idea but its like painting a big target on your back.

Are you sure it isn't against the rules, I'd have though it would be.

You'd look like a complete pratt walking out in blue pads. Get some white pads or paint them white, you can't bat in blue pads.
