GN Stickers onto a genuine GN
« on: February 08, 2012, 02:13:09 PM »

Why can't I buy stickers from GN - I have a 8 year old Longbow thats had a new handle fitted locally and as such have lost the stickers on the bat. I dont want nor need the bat to refurbed by GN so why can't they just sell me the stickers to put on my bat??

In short because they can't trust everybody who they send stickers too to put them on a GN made bat...

plus they want you to buy a bat with their shiny new stickers on...!!

...as they have no way of knowing whether you will put the stickers on one of their actual bats, or you will take a kashmir plank of lesser quality, stick their labels on it and then flog it on ebay at an inflated rpice, claiming it to be the genuine model.

Would suggest that if you wanted to retain the correct labels you should have sent the bat to Gray Nics to do the work

I think GN are very well priced for a handle replacement which includes as clean-up, new stickers, new grip(s) and postage. Moreover, the best thing is that you can ask GN to arrange a collection as well for a competitive price.

I'm more than happy to send the bat back to them, however they dont seem to offer a re-label as an option on its own. it seems they will only do it as part of a refurb and that will be nigh on £40 just for some labels ???

The bat will come back like new, and there is postage and about £20 per sticker set to consider, not the cheapist, but not the worst deal in the world.

I've also got a vintage powerspot that needs a repair so might send them both back together and see how much it's going to cost.

I'm looking to get a 3lb Kookaburra Biggest Kahuna, refurbed/Weight Adjustment, was just wondering if anyone has had this service done before and what it turned out like, I've read that they are stickering up non GN bats, but does anyone know what stickers they use?

Thank you

I have just had 2 done by GN. A nitro carbo and a GM Hero original which had a weight adjustment. The non GN bats stickers are just plain with the GN logo on I have a pic somewhere. Found it.... the back one is very similar to the front and i took the small sticker off with the qr code on.

Is there any chance you could take one of the back? How long did it take? Happy with what they did?

Thanks

Yep, here's the back. Took about 10 days for both to be done. Very happy - the GM had quite a few spike marks on the back and was a bit of a mess but almost all was removed with the weight reduction. Good quality finish as well.
