I've just redone my bulldog to get it shiny, just use a little bit and rub furiously!

How long do you leave it for before rubbing and do you leave it on the face or cloth?

I just put it on and then rub it a lot then leave it. Don't go back to it

I use a bit of kitchen roll, dab a bit of wax on it and work in, making sure to apply across the whole area as evenly as possible. To little is better than to much, as you can always dab a bit more wax on. Give it a decent rub with the cloth to ensure no residue is left on the bat. I tend to get a buffing cloth/polishing cloth and give it a bit of a rub straight after to bring a bit of a sheen to the bat. If you do it very lightly you can always go back to it a few days later with another coat.

Bringing an old topic back up.... Fellow bat waxers - any advice on how much should be used for a brand new un-oiled bat?

Also, after applying a coat how much drying time should be given before the second coat? Do we treat this like linseed oil where we coat it once every 24 hours for 3 days and then start the knocking in process?

Thanks guys

Just take a dab on a piece of cloth and rub it in gently along the grain. You will know how much is enough as you do it (just enough to penetrate all the wood, without leaving a thick residue).

Let it sit for 5 mins (allows the wax to dry, it will become "hazy") then buff vigorously using a clean cloth or microfibre towel. Buff in all directions (mix circular motion with across the grain.)

Repeat for a "deeper" shine. No need to wait more than a few mins between coats, this is not like applying raw linseed oil.

After about 48 hours you should be fine to put on a anti scuff. I always give a couple of days n it works well enough for me! Random Ive had an anti scuff on for a year, batted without the other day n Im getting seam marks on the bat! They really do work!
