Well, they certainly didn't take much advice from their accountant now did they? Clarke and Gayle within a month... I hope they aren't pulling a Woodworm!

They also have Benji Marshal from the NRL, and he wouldn't have come cheap either. I think they have the advantage that they are in a lot of sports, so they would (hopefully) have a sound financial backing.

Need to change their stickers, gloves and pads before more people buy their kit. It's vile.

Not even kidding, those stickers are the worst genuine stickers I've ever seen.

The ones Johnson used were absolutely terrible (The Red ones). Clarke has his own stickers (MC 329 Blue ones), and while they are much better, they are still pretty bad.

I can imagine a lot of companies would be after him. Wasn't there a rumour that MC got $1m to go to Spartan and have the MC range?? I think Chris Gayle would come at a similar price. Different player entirely but he hits the scores regular enough. Crazy money for a brand with awful looking gear. They may fall into the dreaded woodworm pit throwing money like that around

Its a strange one as yeah he was definitely using the CA15000 in the big bash and I cant see CA going to all the trouble of listing a player on their website etc if he is with some one else now. Either way I am looking forward to seeing him at Taunton this year playing for Somerset in the 20Twenty matches!!!

In Big Bash he was for sure using CA 15000 Plus.

In two BPL games so far he has been using plain bat along Ihsan gloves.

Here's what I suspect; CA may have signed a relatively lucrative, short run deal with Gayle for the sole purpose of having the ability to produce bats (the 15000 in this case) with the Gayle moniker. Once the bat rolls into shops, it's sporting the Chris Gayle name regardless of whether he's endorsed by CA or not.

It would be interesting to know if CA has managed to circumvent the issue of royalties in this case.
