You can meet a proper batsman, and eat some cake - then you can watch Canners hog the nets cos he 'has to be getting off early' - oh and you might meet a Big Pussy!

me hog the nets did you really just say that...........

i only managed to get a few hits in between the stig tampering with the bowling machine ;) the stig needs to get the speed up and face in excess of 55mph next time :)

Is this a shop bought bat, in which The Stig got lucky with weight? I notice the model sticker has been removed.

Does Batoff play for leatherhead?
No, he is part of the furniture at Headley however

mummy mummy .. I WANT!!!!!   >:(

this is why he would only bring this bat when Canners and Hosk weren't there... I don't stand a chance!

nope - the stig said that GM decided that the bat face wasn't clean enough to be an L.E./Players and as he isn't a major signing he said he would just take the bat without a model sticker.

The bigger one?

no, the absolutely massive one.

No wonder the stig hits the ball so hard

I wish I could get a bat like that just little heavier

C'mon buzz surely you can convince the stig to hook one of us up

I could just about use that weight although 2'10-2'11 is better weight for me, so please tell Mr. Stig that it is safe if he brings it for next batoff!  ;)
My Screaming Cat was in more danger of being snuffled by the Stig!!  :(

No wonder Ravi has to go elsewhere for his bats if the super-light clefts are going to ex-county players.

Mr Lowry said there's no such thing as light weight pro clefts if I remember correctly

Maybe you have to go direct to SS for them :)

So, have I got this right, in that all GM's (of a given model name) are exactly the same shape with the same (near enough) dimensions, and the GM+ suffix refers to a meatier profile?

So the sub 2'9 GM+ bats are super rare and don't make it out to the shop stock?

Correct - GM+ are in the region of 4mm bigger (all over) than the standard shapes.

This is not the case - it is just that pieces of willow such as this are rare (so there are n't that many about in the shops)

Correct me if I'm wrong here Streaky, I was just going to add that for the + profile the standard weight is 2'12 or higher. It's rare to get much below that weight. I heard of one shop bat last year that was 2'9 ish and the one I got a couple of weeks ago is 2'10.6 . I know of a couple that are just under 2'12, but you're more likely to find those near the standard weight.

I guess for the stig to get 3.5oz lighter it must of been set aside for the pro's?

Generally 1mm added to the back profile adds 1 oz - so if a GM+ is 3 to 4 mm bigger it would be 3 - 4 oz heavier than a standard Icon for the same density of willow cleft. That said we do get lower density willow clefts (very rarely that low, and the mysterious stig has been very lucky) that make light GM+ bats, these will go to both retail and pro players - the pro's blades will be blades that have imperfections on the face but still go like guns.

So having recently lost his county contract, can't you twist his arm Buzz, that there's a very quick way to make a hefty chunk of coin?
