The Stig's new ICON
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:29:26 PM »

I have had a net this afternoon with the Stig - to which as Hosk and Canners weren't there, he finally bought his bat.

It is reasonable to say that this bat is immense - and unbelievably only 2lbs 8.5 - this is an amazing piece of wood and really shows what can be done with the best willow, not the cleanest but really well pressed.

The Stig said it was one of the finest out an out performance bats he has been fortunate to have.

I had a go with it and the performance was surreal - not to mention the balance.

While he wasn't looking I snapped a couple of pictures with my phone so sorry for the picture quality - I was in a rush, so enjoy.

Just taken a pic of my 808+. It's 2'10.6oz and 35mm edges:-

All I can conclude is his is nearer 40mm and 2oz lighter than mine - and I got lucky finding a lighter one. So 4oz lighter compared to a standard GM+

looking at his bat maybe the gm+ sticker is more towards the top edge, so maybe not 40mm but certainly 2oz lighter!

And for £500 you too can own a bat just like this, plus the Stig's signature will be laser-etched in it

Do they do a stig model?

Maybe the stig asked for no model on as sponsored players get what they want I'd think

Is that a £2 coin??
And look like easily 35-40mm edges. But the rest doesn't look thin so looks chunky all over!  :o
Blimey! No wonder he wouldn't bring it when Canners and myself are there!
2'8 with that size is crazy!! How did it go, or is that a really stupid question!!  ???

The Stig wants to hit it in the right direction then.....like a proper batsman would!
