I dont think big Freddie can hold a candle to Beefy let alone Johnson.

Johnson has great talent but this is a bit much too soon.

Sorry but comparing Johnson to any of the great all rounders Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, Ian Botham or Richard Hadlee, is well wide of the mark. These players achieved the greatness by their performances over 15+ years.

Johnson's got talent, but he's having a purple patch with the bat.

Totally agree, Johnson has had two good scores with the bat, I think it's way too early to be comparing him to players like botham. Give it 5 years and see how good he is then.

Exactly Yash, if I'm not mistaken Johnson has had major back problems in the past, and Ponting does seem to run him into the ground.

Interesting that Johnson's average is currently 34.70 after 21 tests and Botham (admittedly after 102 tests) was 33.54. Would be interesting to see what Botham's average was after 21 tests (EDIT: was actually 36.57) and reckon would be nearer 40, plus the attacks he was facing when he played were better than the current crop that Johnson is playing against. Botham is a legend and like people have said, Johnson would have to maintain his form for a prolonged period of time, although to be fair some of his hitting in this latest series was pretty awesome.

He looks like a decent batter but if he wants to be considered as an all rounder he needs to make sure that his form with the ball continues as well as his batting form.

Johnson is an awesome bowler i cant wait to see more of him. Full credit to him if he can achieve great things; but they should give him time.
