advice needed on my wierd superstitions
« on: March 06, 2012, 08:49:14 PM »

As 1 or 2 of you know I'm forever chopping and changing the type of grips on my bat and the number I use.

I was wondering if anybody else is like this and if they could shed some light on why I'm like I am ...

So with this I'm after advice - couple of seasons ago I used 2 grips and had my best ever season run wise scoring my first ever 50. However it never felt fully comfortable in the hands, not really natural and to thick!!

Now when I have 1 grip on the bat I feel I am able to maneuver the ball around better and feel in better control of the shot I am playing however I never seem to score runs like this...

Thoughts and suggestions welcomed please

use half a grip for your bottom hand and a single grip over the top and you have a happy, comfortable comprise! well it works for me...

Fussy so and so ;)

But what buzz said! Half underneath! Or maybe try a few different styles of grips?

Reds, I don't know how feasible it is but how about a second layer of twine/binding?
Obviously fairly thin but might be just enough.

I am in the same position, sometimes 2 feels great, sometimes 1 is ample.
Interested to see how this progresses

I used the GM shock control grip a lot last year, but can't seem to find them any more.

Use tape to build up a comfortable thickness, as well as making it more round/oval to your liking.

Ah, quit worrying.  Different bats will require different set ups anyway - I have one that has four grips on it, another than I use with one and a half!

you can use a medical tape to achieve the desired amount of thickness.
