place the edge over a steaming kettle for 20-30 seconds, possibly longer and then wipe down. Give it a while to dry off and fine sand.

I had this happen to a GM hero 909........but more on the face and due to a cheap and nasty ball............... steamed it out and then next session hit in the same area and the edge split reight through.  My advice is like the others leave it and may be even run some tape over it.

good point - wasn't going to recommend steaming on the face, back areas and edges towards the back of the bat only!

Similar things happened to me today... Combination of cheap ball and bad shot...

What should I do? Use some tape and facing sheet and get on with life or get it repaired? Fear is where it is it may happen again...

If in doubt tape it.

don't worry about it mate, its only because its on the heatwood and its harder than sapwood. happened to mine as i didn't knock it in. just get a scuff sheet and some edge tape and it'll be fine.

I must admit I didn't knock it in very much. I'm knocked the surrounding edge in lightly and it's made the crack seem smaller.

Will be appling edge tape and scuff sheet.

Sand it lightly, then apply superglue to the crack (if it is still there.) Should be fine after.

Really. It's a really small crack and PVA glue is too thick to get in deep enough. I have used superglue to fix several cracks like this myself, never had a problem.

If you absolutely must use PVA, dilute it with some water so that it seeps into the crack.
