Still need to get some new trousers for next season and it looks like the north gear site has none in my size (large/36 waist).

After subscribing to AOC I've got a 10% off code for barrington sports so I'm thinking about ordering some from there along with a load of grips (GM shock absorba to try liam's trick of using this for bottom hand under another grip), maybe a GM LE thigh pad to try and some other bits to get free delivery.

The Nike ones which based on a search on here seem to be really good are out of stock so I'm looking at these:

Adidas trousers - not sure about the press studs near the bottom

Does anyone have either of these, are they any good?

For the grips I'm going to buy some GM shock absorba grips for underneath and then maybe the GM control or kook xtreme grips for over the top - does anyone else use these, they look ok but just wondered if they were or if they were rubbish.

It's amazing how being on this forum has made me think about little things like grip setup, previously as long as the grip wasn't ripped I didn't care but now I'm interested in getting the best setup (not that it makes much difference when I play all around a straight one of course).

The other thing to consider on clothing is getting branded team wear for your whole club at a discounted price, although that might be a bit more effort than just buying them for yourself, obviously.

I've ended up getting some north gear trousers off eBay after emailing David to check sizing. He seems like a good bloke, I mentioned this forum to him and I think he's contacted johnny today about joining.

As for grips if anyone is after some I bought a few off prosportuk today. I think shock absorba's were �2.50 and GM control �2, free delivery too.

AOC - thanks, my teams don't bother with full team kit just yet but maybe in future. As for the magazine it's great, just wish I could win one of your competitions - knowing my luck I'll win the keeping pads this week and have to sell them or finally call time on trying to bowl again and become a keeper. Also can't wait to see if any of the suggestions I made to kier the other week are any use. Maybe you should run a competition on here for people to either suggest a topic for, or write an article themselves

He seems to have signed up, though I haven't had any contact from him about this.

Have dealt with him before though - he sorted me out with my whites last year, and he was also kind enough to provide a 20% discount code when I was trying to set up Cricket Deals.

Haven't had a look for a while, but his twitter feed was normally quite good - bit of healthy cricket debate as opposed to just promoting his goods - would be good to have him on board, and if he was interested in sponsoring, then it would offer something slightly different.

His prices are good and the product is quality.

Which ones did you go for in the end? I went for the mega-garish 'Pacific' range which has about a 4 inch stripe down the leg. Bit risque, but what the hey!

I went for the plain elite bowling trousers, didn't fancy the coloured ones. I even sent back some Canterbury fielding trousers last year as they were a bit too disco for my liking.

Don't the massive coloured bits make you a target for some creative sledging as per the discussion in the other thread?

To be honest, when you're batting they are still mostly covered by batting pads. And when you're fielding you don't really get much grief from batsmen. Probably get most grief from team mates, but then I'm used to that as I've always had a slightly alternative approach to the clothing I wear, both on and off a cricket pitch.

I also bought a pair with the green/gold trim, which is a lot more subtle, so I do mix it up a bit as well.
