PWs forum XI vs Rob Pack XI
« on: March 23, 2012, 04:51:54 PM »

Ok, so.... I've been talking with RP and simon about this and we've decided to sort out a friendly (must win) game down in irthlinborough one Sunday during the season. I'm looking for 10 players to fill a PW XI. Obviously you need to be able and willing to travel to the ground and maybe pay towards teas and umpires (both tba). There's no way I am going to accept a loss at the hands of the old master and his young apprentice but the invite is of course open to anyone who wants to play.

The workshop will be open before the match and I'm happy to show you guys round and introduce you to the pack man.
The ground is 5 mins down the road.
Hoping to play 45 overs, tea as it stands may be a lovely curry choice as one of the irthlinborough boys owns a restaurant  :D
Umpires and a scorer will be arranged as well.

The venue is sorted and this thread will be updated regular with details etc.
I'm thinking Sunday June 24th but obviously this may be altered due to player availability.

I'm not expecting an easy game as the lads we are up against play Northampton prem plus RP and he knows a fair few let's say capable players he may bring along.
I'm hoping this will be a great day out and a good opportunity for forumites to mingle and socialise in the real world environment.

If you want to play and I must stress are 'genuinely' interested please post here with your details and the type of player you are.

Currently there's the big time (useless) skipper.... Me.

I need a good balance of players and obviously not everyone who replies is guaranteed a place. If there's lots I will draw the names out of a hat for places.

Please state what you do so I can categorize appropriately. I'm a bit thick you see

I'll start off...
PW88
Batting style: RH top order batsman
Bowling style: RA spin bowler

It will be on June 24th. Only way that date will change is if both sides can't get 11 but Simon reckons it is easy for the oppo as they don't have Sunday fixture in June

the definite date is 24th June
Format is as follows guys
The game will be 45 overs
Venue is irthlinborough
We will have a scorer and at least one umpire
Tea tba but curry afterwards in the club house so might I suggest a forum group brekkie and play straight through with light snacks at the drinks breaks.... Fair interest as it stands but I'm short a quick or two if someone wants to weigh in.....

I am planning a trip to the UK at the end of June so if I might be able to go. How far would it be from nottingham as that is where I am going to be staying?
