Jesus Christ, Oi Vey, Hare Krishna & Buddha!!! didn't anyone have a crap season?

.....I got the yips and can't bowl spin anymore.
For all my batting practice, still can't control my base instincts & continue to tw*t it straight to fielders.........

That sounds like my season! My left arm spin has stopped turning and my brain has stopped allowing me any kind of patience at all when batting.....rubbish season...glad it's over! May never play again. Going to buy a massive motorcycle and start doing trackdays in the Summer instead!

Not quite the last game of the season I was expecting yesterday...got dragged off the field against Colesy's team after 2 overs to be told my father in law had had a heart attack. Drove up to Newcastle to see him straight away and by this evening he had discharged himself from hospital, tough as old boots those Geordies. Kind of put my terrible cricket season into perspective

Yea appreciate that mate, pretty stressful weekend but main thing is he is ok for now. Sorry I had to dash off, you were going pretty well at the time too and I was hoping to have a proper look at the morrants but cricket and kit very much took a back seat for once this weekend

Yeah understandable. Was difficult going from out arti to a grass wicket, kinda went downhill after you left, dropped twice then slashed a wide one to the keeper

Ah right, I guess the full tosses and half trackers in the first over didn't really get affected by the grass track! Maybe try and get a friendly sorted for next year

Oh no one mentioned a bowling season ;) Yeah that didn't happen so leg spin doesn't exist anymore at my club.

Not had a bad season (so far) with the ball.

153.3-33-318-53  - Bowling Avg 6.00, ER - 2.07 , SR - 17.37

First season (in 28) I've taken 50 wickets. No coincidence it was the first season bowling my brand of left arm spin/darts. Still plenty to work on during the winter, more revs on the ball, a little more consistency to the lefties and a touch more variation in pace/flight.

Not batted much - 241 runs  @ 26.78

For all my batting practice, still can't control my base instincts & continue to tw*t it straight to fielders.
I am now so fat in the field, that when I pull off a glorious diving stop, it's down to my lower centre of gravity, rather than any skill.

...but I'll still be back next year, and I'll catch some of you young, skillfull, good-looking, athletic buggers up!!!

It's alright mate I had a shocker of a season with the bat, having top scored back in May with 6, it took be until this weekend to get into double figures with 10, so much for my average of 20 by the end of the season!  On the plus side my fielding wasn't bad and I didn't drop a catch, plus I was nominated somewhat bizzarly as best play for the Sunday 2's at our awards night on Saturday!  Still it doesn't help when I am going for the role of 5th team Captain next season that my batting was poor!

Fattus I'll drop you a PM as I've spoken to one of our coaches about some 1-2-1 coaching during the winter.

Finished off the season with a nice 104 not out - amazing the difference a hard wicket makes!!!  Very happy with the new H4L bat - used it 4 times and scored 58, 26, 28* and 104*  :D

Fingers crossed for the weather mate - I was due to play in a 6 a side comp there are few years ago and it smashed it down with rain as we arrived and got called off!!!  Gutted to say the least as each team were allocated a pro and would have been a top day
