We got a full game on Saturday. Played the team that finished one place above us last year (they were 3rd we were 4th) - beat them quiet convincingly.
We scored 175 for 3 on a very decent wicket considering the conditions. For the most part the ball came onto the bat well, just possibly with a little extra lateral movement than usual.
I opened the batting and looked and felt like a million dollars until a ball moved away from me and skidded on a bit. I was late trying to pull the ball, but also some how trying to pull it on the wrong line, and was caught at slip off the back of my bat.
My opening partner in comparison scored 54 despite looking terrible, and scoring at least half of his runs off the edges of his bat (combination of chinese cuts and snicks through the slips) - hopefully I'll get a bit more luck at some point.
Total of 175 felt very slightly under par for the track, and was very frustrating that our number 4 had no interest in sacrificing his wicket to try and get us to a bigger total. With wickets in the hutch he was still patting the ball back to the bowler into the last 5 overs - especially frustrating when we had a couple of big hitters waiting to come in at 6 & 7. Luckily our number 5 played a nice little cameo, hitting a very quick 36.
We bowled the opposition out for 134 - they batted a bit brainlessly, as they got off to a flier and were about 60 for 1 off the first 10 overs, but once we made a break through they lost wickets regularly.
