Our league games are 46 overs per side, but you can declare early and forfeit the remaining overs to the other side, giving you more chance to bowl them out - and them more chance to get them. The same happens if you don't bat out all your overs - though usually in that scenario chasing is a moot point as you don't have much to defend. Batting second, and sometimes with as few as 7 players, we've had to try to bat out for a losing draw on quite a few occasions as chasing the total wasn't really in the equation.

Our league games usually total 90 overs and you can bat a maximum of 47 in the 1st innings

Won our quarter final last night. Bowled the other team out for 116, I got a run out but dropped a difficult catch and 2 other poor throws which would've resulted in run outs. Batting wasn't much better. Got a run a ball 15 having been dropped behind on 0 I was bowled by a peach that nipped back a yard or so and clipped off stump's bail. We won by 8 wickets with a couple of overs to spare so looking forward to the semi-final on Sunday morning now.

Keep your fingers crossed for us as it's the furthest our club has been!

Toured Cambridge at the weekend. Missed the Friday game as working so went down on Saturday. Game called off due to water logged pitch so played golf most of the day. Sunday played Fordham CC who are in Prem div of local league. Total miss match as my Sunday team are social side and fixture secretary hadn't told them. They were great and adjusted the bowling accordingly. Went in at 120-3 and their umpire gave me out lbw second ball despite a massive inside edge. Long way to go for a second ball duck!!!

In their innings the umpire gave their opener not out to a plumb lbw saying he'd edged it, which no one heard. Selective hearing from the old boy! Didn't disgrace ourselves and bowled ok so we didn't give too many easy runs. Think they were glad of the batting practice as like most teams have not played much.

Played my old team last night who i left to go and play at a higher standard, been batting ok but as luck would have it out 3 ball for 1 trying to drive a ball that didn't bounce and toe ended it up in the air

Got heckled from a guy who's top score in the last 2 years is 27 and averages 8.5 2 years running

Got to love playing old team-mates!

Latin? Nice and deep meaning......"How quickly the glory of the world passes away"

I say something similar when things happen to me! The phrase I use if "Oh Sh1tbags!" Similar but not as deep!  ;)

won easily today but when we were 36-4 it didn't look straight forward. Scored 215-8 and then bowled them out for 78. Following on from little kids last week I treated myself to a man, women and kid in my 4-1-6-3. Need to get out of this division!

Got a game in the 1's yesterday. We batted first and posted 266 all out from 52 overs. I batted at 9 and got 42 from 17 balls. Their innings came to a close on 209-9 from 44 overs. I hate draws!

Managed to beat the team I joined at the start of this season after returning back to my original club yesterday. They batter first and hit 224 with ex Gloucestershire and Leicestershire batsman Rob Cunliffe hitting 112, off a whopping 157 balls. In reply we had a good start but fell to 100-6, then a brilliant 73* from our no.8 saw us home with 5 balls to spare! Was a great game, I scored 38 which was nice, bearing in mind when i was playing for them last month they were about to drop me to the 3's as they said i wasn't good enough for the 2's let alone the 1's!
