Batted my second innings with my new Blackcat yesterday. The Captain asked me to open, normally bat at 6. My first over on strike i got a bouncer, two body liners and one to the nuts. What a start to a relaxing Sunday morning.

Played a game against an Indian touring side today. Don't want to say too much because it was frustrating all day and I won't be playing under that captain again. Personally I bowled terribly or words to that effect for 5 overs then got 20 off 21 before being bowled off of my pad again. One positive today, extra cover drive for 6 hitting someone in the bowls green, my best shot ever.

4 wins/winning draws on the bounce and we are starting to climb up the table. Weekend off soon and we are playing the national side of Switzerland in a T20!

To be honest I wish this season would be over!  I started OK, but with not be able to play or net on a regular basis because of the weather any form that I did have has long gone!

I just hope I'll be able to post a couple of decent scores between now and the end of the season as I feel all I'm doing at the moment is making up the numbers, which isn't great!

Had a good game last weekend, played Taunton CC and won by about 100 runs. We we stuck in on a wet wicket, and I managed to contribute 69. Gave some guy who captained Somerset 2nds last week a bit of a whack too... He opened the batting for them and hit 41 and looked really really good!

Leaves us 10 points clear at the top of the Bristol and Somerset Division, with 4 games to spare! Up the Minehead

Wanted to play for the 2nd's today so I could get a bat(I've only batted 3 times on a Saturday this season) but was forced to stay in the 1st team. Our game got called off as our opponents only had 7 players but the 2nd's game is still on. Really frustrating as there are only 2 weeks of the season left.. Atleast we are finally going to get a Sunday game in, every one we have tried to play we have either not had enough players or it has been rained off.. Rubbish season.

Won yesterday by 5 wickets, the oppo got 147-7 in their 45 and we got it with a few overs to spare. Not easy for me to play my normal game so I hung around with our other opener giving nothing away to try and get as close as we could without loss. I got 27 off 58 before edging the spinner to the keeper so off I walked but managed to get over halfway there before we lost our first wicket so quite happy.

Also nice to have an old Spitfire fly overhead for about 15 minutes due to the nearby balloon fiesta. I do like the good ol Spitfires

We won our 40 over game today by 245 runs with extras being the 2nd top scorer after we made 315 in the first innings and then bowling out the oppo for 70. I only made 20 but it was a good overall team win.

First ton of the season today. I got 103* off of 120 with 12 fours and 1 six. We bowled the oppo out with the last ball of their innings for 166, I bowled 6-0-28-0 so not too bad but could've been better. I opened with my mate and we've put on 340 in our last 3 innings for the loss of one, today followed the pattern putting on 110 before he got out for 40. As we got closer to the finish I didn't think I'd make it but a combination of defensive batting from the other end saving wides etc and the umpire awarding byes instead of wides left me on 97* with 1 run needed to win and the bowler dug one in which I pulled over the ropes for 6. Don't think I've been so relieved walking off of a cricket pitch!
